Conor McGregor Will Not Fight For The Lightweight Title On His Return. Ever since Conor McGregor announced he was coming back to the UFC, he has been getting a lot of attention for the lightweight title, but the UFC boss Dana White said that Conor will not fight for the lightweight title when he returns from a retirement.

Why Conor McGregor will not fight for the lightweight title on his return? In a recent interview with Irish radio host, Michael Whelan, McGregor confirmed he will not defend the lightweight belt upon his return to the UFC.

According to the UFC president, the reason behind not picking Conor for the lightweight title is that he has too many injuries.

On November 12, 2015, Conor McGregor lost the lightweight belt to Eddie Alvarez. Although it was an official decision, many people believed Eddie won because of Conor’s injury. The reason is that Conor suffered a cut on the eye when he got knocked down by Eddie and he lost the fight.

Besides losing the belt, he also got banned for three months. Dana White even said that he will make McGregor earn the belt again, if he wants it.

Conor McGregor was supposed to fight at UFC 205, which is scheduled for November 24th. But the fight against Eddie Alvarez has been postponed. In that case, Dana White said that Conor McGregor will fight at UFC 206.

Dana White also said that the reason behind the fight is to take out the trash that is Conor McGregor.

On October 27, 2015, Conor announced he was leaving the UFC to take a break. He said that he will take four weeks of training before he returns. However, it was revealed that his retirement wasn’t related to the UFC. He just wanted to take a break for a while.

When he returned to the UFC, he signed a new five-fight deal. Since then, the promotion has released no information regarding Conor’s status. The question is that will he fight for the lightweight title again?

It looks like Conor McGregor has nothing to fight for. Dana White said that he will have to earn the title, if he wants it.
