Erik ten Hag is in a difficult position heading into the Manchester derby, according to Danny Murphy.

Erik ten Hag is facing a selection dilemma ahead of Sunday’s derby clash with Manchester United, with Danny Murphy offering his thoughts on the matter.

The Dutchman has several key players out injured, including captain Virgil van Dijk, and he must decide whether to go with experience or youth in his starting XI.

Murphy believes ten Hag should err on the side of caution and select a more experienced side, as the likes of United’s Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford will look to make an impact in the game.

He also believes that City’s recent form, which has seen them lose three of their last four games, will be a factor in ten hags thinking.

City is still top of the Premier League table, but they are now just two points ahead of United, who have a game in hand.

With so much at stake, Sunday’s derby will be a heated affair, and ten Hag will need to make sure his side are reis for the battle.

My Opinion:

I think Danny Murphy is right – Erik ten Hag should select a more experienced side for Sunday’s derby clash. City’s recent form is a cause for concern, and they can’t afford to slip up against United.

Van Dijk’s absence is a tremendous blow the cutters has the quality to cope without him. I think they’ll just about edge this one, but it’ll be close.
