It’s been a little over two years since we’ve seen Jesse Rodriguez in the ring. The San Antonio native took some time off after his last fight in December 2019 to focus on his day job and to start a family. But now, the 30-year-old is ready to make his return to the boxing world, and he’s got his sights set on a world title.
Rodriguez (15-0, 0 KOs) will take on WBC super flyweight champion Srisaket Rungvisai 50-5-1 (43 KOs) in the main event of a boxing card on Saturday, June 25 at the Tech Port Center in San Antonio. The card will be streamed live on ESPN+ (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).
This will be a big test for Rodriguez, who will face one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world in Rungvisai. But Rodriguez is confident that he has what it takes to win.

“I feel great,” Rodriguez said. “I’ve been training hard and I’m ready to go out there and get the win. I know it’s going to be a tough fight, but I’m prepared for anything. I’m ready to bring the world title back to San Antonio.”
Rodriguez has only fought once at the super flyweight limit of 115 pounds, but he believes the move up will only make him a better fighter.
“I feel like I’m a different fighter now at 115 pounds,” Rodriguez said. “I’m stronger and I have more power. I’m ready to show the world what I can do.”
Rungvisai is a tough opponent, but Rodriguez is confident that he has the skills to win.
“I’ve been working on a lot of things in the gym and I’m ready to show everyone what I can do,” Rodriguez said. “I know I have the skills to win this fight. I’m going to go out there and do my best.”
