In a recent interview, Joseph Parker has spoken out about his upcoming fight against Joe Joyce, and has vowed to stop the “hype train” that Joyce has been on.
Parker, who is ranked at number three in the world by the WBO, will fight Joyce, who is ranked at number eight by the WBC, on September 24, 2022, in London.
This will be Joyce’s first professional fight, and Parker is keen to make a statement against him.
“I’m going to be very strategic, I’m going to be very smart and I’m going to do whatever it takes to get the win,” Parker said.
“I don’t think he’s fought anyone of my calibre before. I’m going to be too smart, too powerful, and too fast for him.”
Parker also spoke about how he has been working on his speed and movement in the build-up to this fight, and how he believes that will be a key factor in him emerging victorious.
“I’ve been working a lot on my speed and my movement,” he said.
“I think that’s going to be a big key in this fight, to outwork him and to hit him with shots that he hasn’t been hit with before.”
Parker is confident that he has the tools to beat Joyce, and is looking forward to putting on a show for the fans in London.
“I’m really looking forward to this fight and I can’t wait to get in there and put on an impressive performance for all the fans in London,” he said.
Conclusion:
I think Parker is going to win this fight. He’s the more experienced fighter, and I believe he has the better skillet.
He’s also been in some big fights before, against the likes of Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte, so I think he’ll have the mental edge over Joyce.
I think Parker will use his speed and movement to his advantage, and will eventually wear Joyce down and stop him in the later rounds.
