Manchester United is closing in on a deal for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong, as well as agreeing terms with the target Tyrell Malacia.
De Jong, 25, has been one of the most sought-after players in Europe this season, with his performances in the Dutch league and Champions League attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in the world.
However, it is Manchester United who has moved quickest to secure a deal for the highly rated youngster, with the two clubs said to be close to agreeing on a fee of around £60 million.
The move for De Jong would see him reunited with former Ajax teammate Daley Blind, who joined the United in 2014.
As well as De Jong, United are also close to agreeing terms with another of their transfer targets, PSV Eindhoven full-back Tyrell Malacia.
The 19-year-old has been one of the standout players in the Dutch league this season and is said to have caught the eye of several top clubs.
However, it is United who are in pole position to sign the young full-back, with the two clubs said to be close to agreeing on a fee of around £15 million.
The double swoop would take United’s spending on Dutch players to over £100 million in the last two years, following the signings of Memphis Depay, Blind and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
Frenkie de Jong (born 12 May 1997) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Spanish club Barcelona and the Netherlands national team.
De Jong began his career at Willem II, where he made his professional debut in 2015. He signed for Ajax in 2016 and won the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup in his first season with the club. In 2018, he was named Ajax Player of the Year. He joined Barcelona in 2019 for an initial fee of €75 million, making him the most expensive Dutch footballer ever.
De Jong made his senior debut for the Netherlands in March 2018. He was included in their squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where he helped the team reach the final.

conclusion:
It was reported earlier this week that Manchester United is closing in on deals for Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia. Both players would cost around £100million, which would smash the club’s transfer record and bring in the biggest spending budget since Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season in charge back in 2013.
It’s now been confirmed that both deals are done, with De Jong arriving from Barcelona and Malacia coming from PSG. It’s no secret that Manchester United were desperate to get a deal done, even with the transfer window closed and the transfer deadline passed, and it seems they’ve done just that. It’s now time to see who the new signings are going to be.
