On the last day, the 76-year-old actor complained of bodily difficulty while attending an inauguration function in Malappuram. He was thereafter sent to a private hospital in Kozhikode, where he was declared dead.

Who was Mamukkoya?
Mamukkoya was a well-known Indian actor who is known for his work in the Malayalam entertainment industry. He has been in the news because he passed away recently at the age of 76.
He was born on July 5, 1946, in Calicut, Madras Presidency, British India (presently Malappuram, Kerala, India). His father’s name was Chalikandiyil Muhammed, and her mother’s name was Imbachi Ayisha. He also has a brother named Koyakutty. He did his schooling at MM High School, Calicut.
Mamukkoya was married, and his wife’s name is Suhara. They have four children named Muhammed Nisar, Shahitha, Nadiya, and Abdul Rasheed.
He died on April 26, 2023, in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. At the time of his death, he was 76 years old.
His career
Mamukkoya began his professional acting career in theater. Afterward, Anyarude Bhoomi in 1979 gave him his chance to break into the movie business. Subsequently, he was employed by Surumaitta Kannukal, run by S. Konnanatt.
However, it was his association with renowned director Sathyan Anthikkad that proved to be a turning point in his career. Mamukkoya landed a role in Anthikkad’s ‘Gandhinagar Second Street’ and later portrayed the iconic character Gafoor in the Mohanlal-Sreenivasan starrer ‘Nadodikkattu’ in 1987.
He later gave a critically acclaimed performance in Perumazhakkalam, Byari, and Korappan, The Great.
