Ronaldo’s £1.7 million Bugatti Veyron crashed

The British-born soccer star who won the Ballon d’Or for the second year running recently crashed his Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport at nearly 200mph into a wall in Portugal.

It seems Cristiano Ronaldo has a bit of an obsession with fast cars. Not only did he crash a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport last week in Monte Carlo, but he’s also reportedly bought two more for £2.5m and £3.5m. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport was driven by Ronaldo to the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff earlier this year.

While the £1.7 million Bugatti Veyron is being repaired after crashing at the Paris Motor Show, the Portuguese football star has revealed details of what caused the crash.

How many Bugatti do Ronaldo have?

In the world of sports, athletes need to maintain a certain level of fame in order to continue receiving financial support from sponsors. It’s important for athletes to show up at their events (such as an awards ceremony) and look good doing it, but there’s also a social element to maintaining an athlete’s brand. Athletes are celebrities and celebrities have to appear at events looking the part. That means keeping track of your public profile, including things like appearances in interviews and magazines.

Did Ronaldo get into a car crash in 2009?

In 2009, Ronaldo was driving from Madrid to Milan and got into a minor accident. He had two cracked ribs and a fractured tibia (shin bone). He was expected to miss only one match of the World Cup but still scored twice in the final, winning the cup for Portugal. In an interview with CNN, Ronaldo said he was “terrified” to return to the pitch after the injury. He also commented on his injuries, saying, “I didn’t think I’d come back. But I’m fine, and I’m thrilled.”

How many Bugatti Veyron does Ronaldo have?

In 2012, Bugatti released a limited edition Veyron Vitesse that sold for a whopping $2.3 million. The car was only made available to seven people in the world. When it went on sale, the first three buyers had to pay in full within 12 hours. No payments were accepted after the third person bought the car, and all remaining orders had to be paid for by the end of the day. Only five of the seven cars ever made it into the world. The total number of Veyron that Bugatti produced has never been made public, but one thing is certain: Ronaldo has over one.

How many Bugatti Chirons does Ronaldo have?

In January 2016, a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport with a 1,000 horsepower engine made a track record speed of 407 mph. At a cost of $2.3 million, it sold for $1.6 million, more than double its asking price. To be fair, the car is very rare, even rarer than a Bugatti Chiron. Bugatti only built 50 cars in total. So how many does Ronaldo have? Well, Bugatti doesn’t actually know, but there have been some estimates put out by outlets like jalapenos. Ronaldo’s collection is said to have anywhere between six and 20 cars, costing around $4 million.

For the Bugatti to be built and sold today, there would need to be a significant number of electric vehicles, and the market would need to accept the idea that electric cars can be fun and desirable. It’s unlikely that this will happen soon. In fact, when the Bugatti debuted in 1931, it was one of the first cars on the road powered by an electric motor, and it was also one of the most expensive. When the McLaren F1 was launched in 1992, the first model sold for about $700,000, and they cost around $3 million to build. In the late 1990s, it was widely predicted that EVs would dominate the roads in the coming years, but that hasn’t happened. In fact, there are now fewer electric vehicles than petrol or diesel-powered ones. We know that our current fuel prices are unsustainable, so how do we make sure that we have the technology that will allow us to?
