The Mayweather vs. Alvarez fight generated a staggering $150 million from 2.2 million pay-per-view sales on Showtime PPV, breaking the previous record set by Mayweather in 2007 against Oscar De La Hoya.
Mayweather would go on to surpass this record in 2015, when he faced Manny Pacquiao and the event sold a staggering 4.6 million pay-per-views.
