Who is Vedaant Madhavan?

Vedaant Madhavan is a well-known Indian swimmer. He has been in the news because, apart from being a swimmer, he is also the son of renowned actor R. Madhavan.

He was born on August 21, 2005, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His father’s name is R. Madhavan, who is a well-known Indian actor, while his mother’s name is Sarita Birje, who owns a clothing store. He calls himself an eggetarian.

Vedaant Madhavan did his schooling at the Universal American School in Dubai.

His height is 186 cm, or 6 feet 1 inch. He is currently 17 years old and is single.

His career

In March 2021, Vedaant Madhavan earned his first international medal—a bronze one—at the Latvia Open. Later that year, at the Junior National Aquatic Championships, he collected seven medals, including four silver and three bronze.

He won his first swimming race at the Danish Open swimming competition in April 2022, taking home his first gold medal. He competed in the 48th Junior National Aquatics Championships in 2022 and went on to shatter records in the 1500-meter freestyle event, becoming the first Indian to do so. He finished the race in 16:01.73 seconds and took home four gold medals and three silver medals.

Vedaant Madhavan competed at the Malaysian Open in 2023 and triumphed with a remarkable five gold medals in the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 1500m freestyle events.
