French star Victor Wembanyama will make his NBA debut this season after signing with the Charlotte Hornets.
The seven-foot-two center was a highly touted prospect coming out of France and was drafted 25th overall by the Hornets in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Wembanyama is a physical specimen with a wingspan that stretches nearly seven and a half feet. He is an excellent shot-blocker and rebounder and has the potential to be a very good rim protector at the NBA level.
He will need to add some muscle to his frame and refine his offensive skills, but he has the potential to be a skilful player in the NBA.
Wembanyama will learn from one of the best centers in the NBA in Dwight Howard. Howard has been a mentor to Wembanyama and has been helping him adjust to life in the NBA.
Wembanyama is expected to see limited minutes as a backup to Howard, but he will have the chance to develop his game and learn from one of the best players in the league.
The Hornets are not expecting Wembanyama to be a star right away, but they hope he can develop into a solid.
My Opinion:
I think Wembanyama is an excellent player in the NBA. He is incredibly physically gifted and has the potential to be an elite rim protector. He will need to add some muscle and refine his offensive skills, but I think he has the potential to be an excellent player in the league.
