Benjamin Mendy, a Manchester City footballer is making headlines ever since the news of him having a secret love child broke out with Yolanda Aguera

For those unversed, let us tell you, the footballer has a love child from a Mediterranean vacation romance. This week, it was revealed that the Premier League star is paying Yolanda Aguera around £350 per month for their daughter’s upkeep, despite her demand for a four-figure sum.

He met former bank worker Yolanda, 41, at a trendy hotel in Barcelona and went to a party at a mutual friend’s plush apartment in the city. Mendy, 28, made no claim to paternity.

His £90,000 a week contract at Manchester City is set to expire in June, raising concerns about his ability to pay the mortgage on his £4.8 million home in Cheshire.

Yolanda, who lives in a small one-bedroom apartment in the city suburb of Badalona, told The Sun exclusively on Sunday: “The last three years of single parenting have been difficult.”

Yolanda further added, “Initially I was getting up two hours every night to breastfeed and helping to look after my grandmother during the day before she went into a retirement home.

“Since my daughter started at nursery school this year I’ve had a bit more freedom to look for work but I’m having to focus on jobs that will enable me to fit in with her timetables.

“The money Ben is paying will help but I’m worried about how I’m going to make ends meet and ensure our daughter doesn’t want for anything.”

Yolanda revealed that they first met at the trendy W Hotel in Barcelona in July 2019 while on vacation.

She discovered she was pregnant five weeks later and gave birth on April 22, 2020, following an emergency Caesarean.

Yolanda informed Mendy of her pregnancy but did not name him as the father on the birth certificate, despite the fact that he has not denied paternity.

They’ve been attempting to reach an agreement for their daughter’s care ever since.

Mendy was charged with seven counts of rape against four women, one count of attempted rape against a fifth alleged victim, and one count of sexual assault against a sixth woman at Chester Crown Court last year.

He was found not guilty of six counts of rape and sexual assault, but will face a retrial in June after the jury failed to reach a verdict on one rape count and one count of attempted rape, both of which he denies.
